Michelle Raven, Lead Stylist, has the inside scoop on all things thrift. With extensive retail experience and years of avid secondhand shopping, Michelle has developed an impressive knack for shopping and styling on a thrift store budget. In 2011, Michelle approached the team at Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores with the innovative idea to offer the same personal shopping services found in high-end department stores at Arc’s Value Village stores, and customers responded enthusiastically. Michelle has been featured in several local newspapers, magazines and also on local television, including Twin Cities Live. Michelle was selected as one of Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal’s 2014 40 Under 40 Honorees. To date, she has shopped with over 1,000 Value Village customers.
Guest Stylist Sarah Colvin was born in a sleepy town in rural England and spent a lot of her childhood rummaging in thrift stores with her slightly eccentric and fabulously dressed grandmother. This eventually led to her getting a degree in Fashion Culture and Communication from the University of the Arts, a 10 year career in the British fashion industry and a wardrobe that is almost 100% thrifted. She has worked with 8yr olds to 80yr olds and loves helping people refine and define their own personal style. Sarah is delighted to be a guest stylist for Arc’s Value Village and has an array of helpful tips for styling outfits for your shape and size. Her styling philosophy is quite simply that looking good can help you feel great.
Emmi Baynard has been a lifelong secondhand shopper, starting with hand-me-downs from her older siblings. As an adult, she loves to keep people guessing with her own style by mixing thrifted finds with designer pieces or pulling together a completely thrifted look. She truly became a style fanatic when she landed a gig at a fashion PR firm in London, then went on to work in retail merchandising and marketing in the Twin Cities before starting her own branding firm and a fashion blog for moms. Emmi has a passion for helping women refine their personal style so they look great and feel even better! She believes that clothes should work for you, not you for them. Emmi will happily pass along her style secrets during your personal shopping session and looks forward to hitting the racks for you!
