Wells Fargo Honored as Thrift Community Partner
by Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers
MINNEAPOLIS – Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers named Wells
Fargo as the recipient of its Thrift Community Partner Award for 2007. Wells
Fargo was honored for its strong support of Arc Greater Twin Cities programs
for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a
recognition event on April 12, 2008.
Wells Fargo and its employees support Arc by donating both time as volunteers
and money to sponsor Arc programs and events. To name just a few of Wells
Fargo’s contributions, more than 70 Wells Fargo employees gave nearly 300 hours
of time in 2007 helping to sort donated items at Arc’s Value Village. Wells
Fargo sponsored Arc’s Annual Membership Picnic, which brings hundreds of
families together for a night of fun and making connections for support. Wells
Fargo Minnesota – The Private Bank also provided a $27,500 grant to help launch
Arc’s Lifetime Assistance Program, which helped 40 families plan for the future
of their loved one with a disability by offering assistance in developing a
lifelong support plan and providing access to financial, legal and estate
planning.
“Arc is grateful to have a community partner like Wells Fargo demonstrate in
ways both large and small that they share Arc’s commitment to helping people
with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families realize
their goals of where and how they live, learn, work and play,” says Arc’s Chief
Executive Officer Kim Keprios.
Arc’s Value Village, now 25 years old, has generated more than $13 million on
behalf of Arc and the people it serves, thanks to generous donations from the
community. Revenue from the sale of donated items helps fund Arc Greater Twin
Cities’ programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental
disabilities and their families.
