Local Mother and Son Honored as Volunteers of the Year
at Arc’s Value Village Store in Richfield

MINNEAPOLIS – Arc’s Value Village Thrift Store & Donation Center in Richfield named a mother and son team, Deanna and Elliot Miller, as its Volunteers of the Year for 2007. The Millers were honored for their tremendous contributions at a recognition event on April 12, 2008.

Deanna and Elliot pitch in wherever they are needed and particularly enjoy spending time on the sales floor stocking shelves and racks and helping customers find what they need. Together, they gave nearly 200 hours of their time to Arc’s Value Village last year. “We are lucky to have Deanna and Elliot as part of the team at Arc’s Value Village. With smiling faces, they make sure the store is full of great stuff at a great value. We can’t put a price on the great service they offer to each and every customer they meet,” says Value Village Store Manager Jeanne Kelley-Rosengren.

“We want to raise Elliot to appreciate the value of service to others because our family is so blessed and it’s important to give back to our community by donating time and money to support others,” says Deanna.

Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores & Donation Centers are successful because of its volunteers, which comprise nearly 75 percent of the stores’ workforce. Their donations of time and talent mean that more of the proceeds from Arc’s Value Village support Arc Greater Twin Cities’ programs and services. In 2007, Arc’s Value Village generated $1.5 million for Arc.

Deanna and Elliot enjoy doing good work for a good cause. If you have two hours a week or eight hours a month to give, find out more about volunteering at Arc’s Value Village by calling Volunteer Development Manager Molly Lindblad at 952-915-3652 or visiting www.arcsvaluevillage.org.
