Pack Your Bags and Win Airline Tickets

Handbag Donation Drive Supports People with Disabilities
MINNEAPOLIS – Have a closet stuffed with handbags you no longer use? Well, pack
up those purses and clear your calendar for Thursday, May 15. Arc’s Value
Village Thrift Store & Donation Center in Richfield is holding a handbag
donation drive with a drawing for a free trip for two to any Sun Country
Airlines destination!
On Thursday, May 15, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m., Lori and Julia from FM 107.1 will
appear at Arc’s Value Village Thrift Store in Richfield to host a “Pack Your
Bags and Win Airline Tickets” event. For every handbag in good condition
donated during the event, the donor will receive one entry for a drawing to win
one of three great prizes:
-
Two round trip airline tickets to any Sun Country Airlines destination,
including Mexico, the Caribbean, Alaska or numerous continental U.S. locations;
-
A new set of American Tourister Luggage courtesy of AAA Travel Store; or
-
A fabulous Fun Sisters Boutique ensemble that includes a new handbag, wallet,
scarf and sunglasses.
The more handbags you donate, the more chances you have to win one of these
great prizes!
Arrive early and you could be one of the first 107 attendees to receive a goody
bag – a free Arc’s Value Village reusable shopping bag. Since winners will be
announced at the end of the evening and you must be present to win, shop while
you wait! Find the perfect summer outfit, a few household items for the cabin
or pick up one of 20 additional handbags donated by the Fun Sisters Boutique
and help fund Arc Greater Twin Cities’ programs for children and adults with
intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
If you cannot make it to the event, but still want to support the cause,
consider stopping by an area business that is collecting handbags for the
event. Last year, clients and staff at Aagesen Chiropractic Clinic in Saint
Louis Park collected more than 100 bags. They aim to do it again this year and
bring the bags to the event at Arc’s Value Village. Other area businesses who
would like to get involved can call Ann Jensen at 952-915-3609 for more
information. All proceeds from the donation drive help people with
developmental disabilities and their families through programs and services
provided by Arc Greater Twin Cities.
Arc’s Value Village, now 25 years old, has generated $13 million on behalf of
Arc and the people it serves, thanks to generous donations from the community.
The Richfield store is the flagship, with stores also located in New Hope and
Brooklyn Center.
